Ideas from My Coaching Years
- Begin the quiz year by providing parents/quizzers with a list of your rules and expectations that they must sign. Be specific, and be consistent in enforcement. If I can find mine I'll post it here later.
- Using color-coded verses from Bro. Powers' materials, you can teach your quiz parents how to make up questions to quiz their kids. I created this document when I coached to help my parents use color-coded verses.
- I gave these team rules to my quizzers.
- Here are some games I used at quiz practices.
- I used these interruption pointers to help teach my quizzers how to interrupt. Use with caution, and keep in mind that question styles vary so these may not work for you. I also used these interruption rules.
- At the start of the season, I gave each quizzer a 3-ring binder for their quiz papers. Each week, I gave a list of goal verses to learn and quizzers/parents were required to keep a daily record of what was studied.
