How to Convert Old Buzzer Handles
The handles from the buzzer systems made by Erickson Electronics can be used with the new BQTournament Computer-Based Buzzer Systems.
- Unscrew the 6 screws from the front of the Erickson Electronics buzzer system.
- Cut the wires connected to CLR, 1R, 1Y, 2R, 2Y, 3R, and 3Y.

- Pull apart the end of each wire about 1 inch, and expose about 1/4 to 1/2 inch of raw wire at the end of each pulled apart wire.

- Gently pull the rubber cover off the metal part of the phono jack.

- IMPORTANT! Hold the end of the wire together and push through the small opening of the rubber cover of the phono jack. If you forget this step you will have to un-solder and re-solder (this is experience speaking). In this step also be sure to match the red phono covers to the red buzzer handles.
- Thread one end part of the wire into the ground hole of the metal part of the phono jack and solder (follow the directions for your particular soldering iron). Thread the other end part of the wire through the remaining small hole of the phono jack and solder. Trim any loose wires, and make sure the exposed ground wire does not touch the active wire and vice versa.

- Slide the rubber cover back over the metal part until it snaps in place.
- Repeat steps 3-7 for the remaining 6 handles.
